THE CONTACT STAGEDENSE CHENILLE WASH MITT
The only thing that
touches your paint.
Two inches of dense chenille with no foam core inside. This is the one part of the wash that actually makes contact, so it is the part worth getting right.
RINSE+ Wash Mitt
One dense gray microfiber chenille mitt with a woven cuff label.
$15
Contact is the risky stage. Pre-Wash and Snow Foam exist to take the grit off before this arrives. A good mitt carries what is left up into the pile instead of dragging it along the panel.
WHY WE RECOMMEND TWO
The bottom six inches
is different dirt.
The roof and hood collect dust. Lower panels, rocker panels and wheel wells collect grit, brake dust and tar. One mitt does the job. Two keeps the worst of the road away from the cleanest paint.
WHY CHENILLE NOODLES
A sponge has nowhere
to put the grit.
Contamination can move up into the pile, away from the working surface, then release when rinsed.
Six and a bit ounces of closely packed noodle means the pile does the work instead of parting under your hand.
The contrast gives you a better chance of spotting contamination before the mitt returns to the paint.
CONSTRUCTION
There is no sponge
inside this.
Most thick mitts get their bulk from a foam core. That core holds water, cleans nothing and stays wet. This is two inches of working chenille with no dead layer inside.
No absorbent foam block trapping old water and residue in the middle.
The only woven RINSE+ label sits on the outside edge of the wrist cuff.
The panel is already lubricated before the mitt arrives, so the contact step is controlled rather than improvised.

CARE
Drop it once.
And it is finished.
A mitt that has touched the driveway may have gravel in the pile. Rinsing cannot turn that risk back into certainty.

WHAT WE RECOMMEND
Keep two. One high, one low.
One mitt comes in every Starter Kit and washes a car perfectly well. Owners who keep a second use it for the lower panels only, and always have a dry spare if one hits the floor.
See the Starter Kit →No. One mitt washes a car perfectly well, and one comes in every Starter Kit. We recommend keeping two so the lower panels get their own mitt, and so you always have a dry spare if one touches the ground.
The mitt itself is. Chenille noodles carry grit up into the pile and away from the paint, and there is nothing abrasive in the cloth. What marks paint is grit the mitt has picked up off the ground, which is why a dropped mitt is retired rather than rinsed.
Yes. This mitt is designed to work over Snow Foam already sitting on the panel, so the lubrication arrives before contact rather than being carried in by the mitt.
